Around the World Through House Sitting

Ever since I released my first book, This Job is Shit, I’ve been poking around online to try and find folks that might be interested in my experiences as a house sitter. Needless to say, I’ve come to realize that a lot of travel blogs are kind of saying (and selling) the same thing.

More importantly, a large majority of the people involved with these blogs still seem to be focused on things like getting good rates at hotels and other usual options for rooms while travelling. Maybe it’s more due to my search queries than anything else, but I didn’t find a lot of talk around just how great house sitting can be for those looking to travel full-time.

Of course, maybe that’s a good thing since I’m trying to promote a book about that very topic and it’s probably better to be a small fish in a small pond than a flooded one, right?

With that in mind, I’m going to try and write more here about why I chose house sitting during my travels, and (in case you have yet to read the book), I’m not going to sugarcoat the whole thing. Trust me, there are downsides to house sitting for sure, and I’ve got plenty of stories around that topic too.

For now, here’s a video I put together to explain one or two of the reasons why I love house sitting.
