WAIW | Gardening in Saigon

One of my favourite things about living in SE Asia, especially the neighbourhood I’m in now, is the abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables available at the local markets. Obviously, this part of the world is great for growing many things, and I’m happy to be able to enjoy so many of them just outside of my door.

Of course, when it comes to growing things inside one’s own space, it’s not always as easy. In most cities, space is limited, especially green space. In SE Asia? Even more so. Luckily, my partner’s place has two small patios, and we’ve been able to try our hands (or thumbs, perhaps?) at growing a few things over the last year or so.

Granted, our accomplishments are not as impressive as another garden that I visited here in Saigon or perhaps the one that we visited recently in Hanoi, but I’m happy with what we have managed to do and I’m looking forward to seeing where things grow from here.
